Preschool Weekly Update

“Down by the Riverside”

Dear Preschool Parents,

We had a beautiful week in preschool. This week we welcomed our new preschooler, Xavi. It was so lovely to watch our older preschoolers take Xaxi under their wings and help him out. We focused a lot on friendships and kindness. As the world changes outside our preschool doors we want the children to feel safe and loved. In an age appropriate conversation we talked about the words war and peace, unkind and kindness. In our daily meditation we added “peace” to our “love” that we share with the world. The children loved the music video, “Down by the Riverside” and asked to watch it a few times.

This coming week will be busy! On Tuesday (Fat Tuesday), the preschoolers at 9:00am will parade around the big school, down High St. to Central Ave. and back to the classroom. They have made Mardi Gras crowns and will have small instruments and streamers. On Ash Wednesday we will go to mass. The preschoolers will be watching the mass from the side annex room. This is a perfect spot to watch the mass in a safe environment.
