Sports offered at Saint Philip Neri Catholic School include cross-country, track and field, basketball (grades 3-8), girls’ volleyball (grades 3-8), and boys’ beach volleyball (grades 5-8). Student athletes experience positive reinforcement and encouragement at all playing levels in all sports. Go Spartans!!
The Saint Philip Neri Catholic School athletic program seeks to promote the spiritual, social, and physical development of the youth of our school by providing activities in an environment that will foster the formation and practice of Christian values.
Our sports are played under the guidance of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) for the Diocese of Oakland, in the East Bay Parochial League (EBPL), with the understanding that participation will allow students to accept victory and defeat with equal grace and sportsmanship. Our Athletic Board administers our sports program which is implemented by parent volunteers who serve as coaches and assistants. Most sports hold practices twice weekly with one game a week, usually on the weekends. SPN sets guidelines to ensure that practice time does not interfere with academics.
Forms needed for each student athlete, along with information about the coaches certification workshops, can be found at the Oakland Diocese CYO Forms page.
Schedules and driving directions to gyms can be found at the East Bay Parochial League website.
