Third Grade Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

Third graders worked diligently to complete assignments and will be rewarded today with a trip to Krusi Park. Thank you to all the parents who helped edit POW’s and homework this week, your time and effort in these areas make a big difference!

Teachers and staff were given a tour of the new Maker Space in the little school across the street.  We brainstormed all the different ways it could be utilized, and I’m hoping that third graders can eventually practice math and create social studies projects there.

Lastly, starting the 2nd trimester I will begin a “Personal Learning Group”. It is for students who want to complete independent research on a topic of their choice. It is not mandatory, and if your child struggles with work already being done in the classroom, I suggest they wait until the end of the year to participate. I will send more information with report cards in November.

Here are some dates to plan for:

  • Monday, Oct. 31 – Noon Dismissal – Halloween
  • Tuesday, Nov. 1 – All School Mass at 9:30a.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 8 – Family Math and Game Night Candyland
  • Thursday, Nov. 10 – End of Trimester 1; Information Night 7pm
  • Friday, Nov. 11 – No School, No Share & Care – Veteran’s Day
  • Mon-Fri, Nov. 14 – 18 – Scholastic Book Fair
  • Tuesday, Nov. 15 – Free dress for November Bdays
