Third Grade Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. Now that we’re done with conferences, it’s time for us to take a deep dive into our curriculums and learning. As we move ahead with the year, you can expect the classwork to become more complex. Therefore, I urge you to help your child by going over their homework with them before it’s turned in, and also reviewing the returned work. It’s essential that homework is not rushed through but instead gone through methodically to practice penmanship as well as accuracy.

Here are some upcoming dates to plan for:

  • Monday, October 9 – NO SCHOOL: Indigenous Peoples Day
  • Tuesday, October 17 – Free dress for October birthdays, Froggy Radio Presentation
  • Thursday, October 19 – Rhythmix Field Trip, 9:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
  • Friday, October 20 – Make-up Photo Day
  • Tuesday, October 26 – K-5 Town Hall Meeting, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 31 – Noon Dismissal, Halloween Parade, 8:15 a.m.

**Mass is every Wednesday. Unless it is very warm, students should be in full uniform. Please ensure they are clean with no holes on the knees.

Please read our SPN Weekly Newsletter to keep up with school events and information!

Our first walking field trip will be to the Rhythmix Center to see the Sewam American Indian Dance Performance. It is scheduled for next Thursday, the 19th. This upcoming event will be an excellent way for us to connect with our next social studies standard, which focuses on the Native Americans in California.

Learning Overview

Have a great weekend!

Warmly,

Mrs. Costy
