Third Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
Students did a fantastic job in class this week and are improving in completing routines and procedures. One of my favorite ways of quieting the classroom is through the use of a plug-in doorbell that plays a melodic piano song for about 12 seconds. During that time, they finish up their conversations and turn their attention towards me. It works every time and gives students an auditory cue to refocus.
Here are some upcoming dates to plan for:

- Wednesday, September 27 – Noon Dismissal: Professional Development Day
October
- Tues-Fri, October 3-6 – Noon Dismissal, Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences
- Wednesday, October 4 – Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, Prayer Service Blessing of the Animals, 8:00 a.m.
- Monday, October 9 – NO SCHOOL: Indigenous Peoples Day
- Tuesday, October 17 – Free dress for October birthdays
- Thursday, October 19 – Rhythmix Field Trip, 9:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, October 31 – Noon Dismissal, Halloween Parade, 8:15 a.m.
**Mass is every Wednesday. Unless it is very warm, students should be in full uniform.

Lastly, I hope you got a chance to review your child’s work that went home this week. It was so nice to see what they had completed so far this year and how they are already starting to improve!
