Kindergarten Update- Revised

Dear Parents, October 22,2021

Thank you to our room mothers Gina Bustos and Julianne Garcia for assisting us in our Harvest Day festivities as well as other parents who provided snacks and pumpkins and the makings of a wonderful photo background. We couldn’t have done it without you! The students enjoyed a virtual pumpkin patch and created frames for their pumpkin patch photos as well as  visiting with their 8th grade Buddies.

We are noticing that students are having some difficulty in the formation of their letters. They need to practice writing their names with a capital letter  at the beginning and all lower case letters after that. Students should be using the lines on the paper to guide them in the size of their letters. If they are able to write their first name, they may begin to practice their last names.

Students are beginning to familiarize themselves with the routines of Lexia, and Seesaw on the IPADs. They will do this twice a week in class. Please continue to allow your child  to familiarize themselves at home with these Apps. In November we will provide more information on the next steps of Technology.

Please talk with you child about keeping a safe distance from each other. Students need to keep hands to themselves- NO TOUCHING. Also, there should be no touching of others’ masks;  masks must stay on except when eating. Some children are having masks slip down under their noses. Please be sure that your child’s mask fits securely for the safety of all.

Don’t forget to return your child Homework folder ( yellow)  with the appropriate sign up sheets (if you have not done so already.) November Homework will go out on November 1st and should be returned on Monday, November 15th.
