Kindergarten Update

Dear Parents, May 14,2021

Due to the unforeseeable circumstances that the pandemic continued to present this year we again want to acknowledge the extra effort and dedication of parents and students this past school year. We know that it has truly been a challenging experience for our families as well as our students. We have continued to refine our program, seeking to add to and support the learning for our students. We were pleased that students continued with their asynchronous work as well as continued to participate in the enrichment classes offered. This is such an important part of St. Philip Neri and what makes our school special. We will assess our students at the end of this trimester in order to complete the end of year report cards.

As is tradition at St. Philip Neri School, Kindergarteners and 8th Grade Graduates participate in a “Ribbon Ceremony” in which the Kindergarteners place ribbons on the graduates in a

heartfelt ceremony that is the first of the Graduation events. It is a joy to see the youngest members of our school honoring the oldest members.  Needless to say our “Ribbon Ceremony” will be virtual this year for the students. Due to current Covid protocols parents of the Kindergarten and 8th Grader students will be allowed to be in the church with us for this ceremony. Details for this will be sent soon.  Mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 8 at 10am.

In conclusion to our study of some of the world’s major artists, we have invited the author of EIEI ART to join us in our Zoom class on Friday, May 28th. We picked this date because it is a distance learning day anyway. Miss Mari has agreed to come and speak with our students! Students will have an opportunity to ask questions of the author at our Zoom class. (You can purchase the book at eieiart.com  if you’d like and enter NERI for a 10% discount)

Our SuperKid for next week is Alice.
