Preschool Weekly Update – Summer Break
A Summer Prayer
Long warm days…
The pace of life slows…
A time for picnics and rest in the shade…
Lord, help me to rest awhile
in the cooling shade of your presence.
Slow down my restless heart and fill me
with gentle compassion for all your people. Amen.

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 5/19
“Change is in the air.”
Hello,
As we approach the final weeks of school, our preschoolers are getting excited for summer break. Please help us by gently reminding your child that it’s still important to follow classroom routines and play structure rules as we finish out the school year.
We’re continuing our water exploration, and this week’s focus is on soapy water and the important role water plays in our everyday lives.
On Friday, May 23rd we will have a school wide, emergency evacuation/dismissal drill. Please let us know if your child will be participating in this drill.
Please mark your calendar for Thursday, June 5th @ 11:00am. This will be our End of Year Celebration in the school garden. You will receive an invitation via email soon.
Summer Tip:
Help your preschooler continue to grow over the summer by building on the progress they’ve made this year. Here are a few helpful suggestions:
- Encourage independence by allowing extra time for your child to collect, carry, and clean up their belongings.
- Maintain a consistent routine by scheduling regular times for snacks, lunch, and dinner—even while traveling.
- Support social development by fostering positive peer interactions and setting clear expectations for respectful communication.
- Limit screen time and prioritize outdoor play to keep your child active and engaged.
Have a restful weekend!
Peace, Ms. Grace and Miss Rosie

Dear Parents,
We are heading into the home stretch! We have started our May theme, Bubbles, Boats and Floats. The preschooler’s explored bodies of water and some animals from those habitats. We had a wonderful, May Crowning mass. The preschoolers were on their best behavior.
Please read all of the “School-wide Emergency Dismissal Drill” emails. Preschool is included in this very important safety drill.
The Fun Run has kicked-off and we have been watching our Quest videos everyday. This is the only “all” school event that Preschoolers participate in and they love it! Thank you to those who have collected donations. There is still time to donate! These funds will help with your future TKer’s electives. This is for fun and not a race!!

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 4/21
Father, the resurrection of Your Son
has given us new life and renewed hope.
Help us to live as new people
in pursuit of Christian perfection.
Grant us wisdom to know what we must do,

the courage to undertake it,
the perseverance to continue to do it,
and the strength to complete it. We ask this in the name of
Jesus, your risen son, our Lord. Amen
Dear Preschool Families,

Hello,
Our bee curriculum has come to an end and this week we will start our butterfly study. We hope that the children have been sharing the fascinating bee science that they have learned.
LENTEN JOURNEY: Our lenten journey has lead us to Holy Week. The children watched an age appropriate “Stations of the Cross”video this morning. Our Good Deeds chart is filling in and we hope to have a full chart by Holy Thursday.
FUN RUN!! Please read all the “Fun Run” emails from the school office. This is the only school wide event that Preschool participates in. It would be great to have 100% participation.

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 4/7
“The earth is entrusted to our care, yet continues to belong to God,” -Pope Francis
Hello Preschool Parents,
Gratitude is the school’s April virtue focus. For a 4 year old, this can be a singular focus on “toys”. I always have to chuckle when the preschooler goes into great detail about a toy. This morning during circle time we were discussing how grateful we were for God’s great creation, the bee. This month’s curriculum is rich in science and the gift and beauty of nature.
We hope you were able to visit, The Celebration of the Arts. The preschool class received high praise for their Picasso portraits. Well done Preschool!
Please read the Fun Run email sent this afternoon. The Fun Run is the only school wide event that preschool participates in. The children love it! We do the morning training videos and we talk about it being a “fun” run and not a race. Everyone is a winner!
Have a great weekend.
Peace, Ms. Grace and Miss Rosie

Preschool Weekly Update – week of 3/31
” I’m convinced that the truest act of courage, the strongest act of manliness, is to sacrifice ourselves for others in a totally nonviolent struggle for justice.” – Cesar Chavez
Hello parents,
We have completed our month long study of desert life. Your child’s portfolio is going home today. Please take a moment to review some of their art work and projects. When we return on Tuesday, we will dive into the wonderful world of “Bees and Butterflies.” See the family newsletter going home today in your family envelope.
LENTEN JOURNEY: Our Lenten chart is showing some new color and filling up. We know that the preschoolers are seeing their progress. We have been asking, in prayer, for the Holy Spirit to help us make good choices during our time at Preschool.
The Celebration of the Arts, April 2-3 @ 3:00pm-6:00pm, in O’Brian Hall, will showcase artwork from all the students at SPN. Please take sometime to drop by and admire your children’s artwork along with the artwork from our very talented SPN student body.
Enjoy your weekend!
