Third Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
I hope you are all doing well and are getting back into the routine of having your children back in school. My family and I are definitely having our good days and bad days, but will get the hang of it just before summer no doubt!
Next week brings the celebration of Catholic Schools. It’ll kick off this Sunday with 9:00 am Mass and will be followed by Open House from 10:00-11:30am. Students are excited to share their work place with parents and family, please try to stop by if you can.
Students performed their Oratorical pieces in the class this week and they all did a fantastic job! It’s one of the hardest decisions Mrs. Schopf and I have to make to pick just 4. We look at pace, prosody, eye contact and the selection. We almost always have tears from a few that don’t make it unfortunately. We make sure to reassure them there is always next year when they’ll have the opportunity to plan and perform again.
Here are some dates to plan for:
- Sunday, Jan. 29: Open House after Mass, Catholic Schools Week Kickoff
- Friday, Feb. 3: Noon Dismissal- Teacher Appreciation Day
- Tuesday, Feb. 14: St. Valentine’s Day- red/white/pink free dress
- Friday, Feb. 17: Noon Dismissal
- Monday, Feb. 20: No School/No Share & Care- President’s Day
Please make sure to read out SPN Weekly Newsletter to keep up with school events and information!
Lastly, we’ve had some issues surrounding Apple Watches, so I’d like to remind you that if your child has a watch with texting capabilities it needs to be turned off or in “school mode” while in class. If students are found texting while at school their watch will be taken at the beginning of the day and returned at the end, just like our middle schoolers. Thank you for your understanding.
