Third Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
It was so wonderful seeing you all last night! We had a great turnout, and I could feel the joy many of you had from being in the school and seeing your child’s classroom for the new year. Please ensure that you read through the packets carefully and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Students completed their STAR testing this week and have been given a new AR level to begin reading at. If you would like their level to help guide your child’s book choice, please let me know and I’ll be happy to let you know on Tuesday. As a reminder students should begin reading at the bottom of their AR level (even if it’s lower than where they left off last year) and move up incrementally. They are also required to read 6 books per trimester (40-100 pages each, longer books will count as more).
Here are some dates to plan for:
- Monday, Sept. 5 – NO SCHOOL – Labor Day Holiday, NO Share & Care
- Tuesday, Sept. 6 – First full day of school for TK/K/1st grade
- Friday, Sept. 9 – Picture Day
- Tuesday, Sept. 20 – Free Dress September bdays
- Friday, Sept. 23 – NO SCHOOL – Elementary staff day, NO Share & Care
- Wednesday, Sept. 28 – Noon Dismissal
