Kindergarten Weekly Update
Here are some notes about our events for the next two weeks:
Mother’s Day Tea- Wednesday, May 8th- Mothers should meet us at the church at 9:30AM and pick up your child in the vestibule. Then please be seated with your child at the front of the church. Father Robert will then give a blessing for the moms and we will all procced to the garden for tea and treats.
Spring Concert- Thursday, May 9th- Students should arrive back to the Kindergarten room at 6:30PM. All students are required to attend. Students should dress in their “sunday best”- no tennis shoes please. The concert begins at 7PM. Also, a “Celebration of Arts” will be displayed in the church hall that evening. Art from all of the students in all of the grades will be displayed. Do visit the hall if you have a chance.
Fun Run- Tuesday, May 14th- Fun Run- Students may come wearing athletic attire and comfortable shoes for walking or running.
There will be no homework this month. Students should continue with Raz Kids and reading books nightly. Additionally, Superkids Online Fun is also an option for homework. Parents should have received the emails for Superkids Online Fun. (They were sent to the email address you provided to the school.) Your child will come home with the password needed for this.If you need any assistance with this, please let us know.
All of the students have had a turn to be our Super Kid this year so this week our Super Kid will be Ms. Whitney!
Rosie will go home with Carl.

What’s Happening in Class?
ELA/Language Arts/Superkids- Identify upper and lower case Zz, blend sounds to decode words, use correct spacing, capitalization, and punctuation in sentences, listen for details in a song, follow oral directions, memory word “was”, understand plural “s” ending, distinguish between singular and plural nouns, answer questions about a story,associate pictures with sentences
Math.-represent addition with acting out situations, pictures and equations, solve addition story problems, identify shapes as two dimensional and three dimensional, analyze and compare two dimensional and three dimensional shapes, model three dimensional shapes in the world by building them
Science- Force and Motion Investigation and Assessment
Social Studies- Alexander Graham Bell, Community Helpers
Religion-” We Pray Every Day”
