4th Grade Weekly Update
Week of April 15th through April 19th
We are completing Lent and entering Holy Week. I hope that everyone had a prayerful Lenten season. Please continue to ask your student about their Lenten commitments and have them return their CSR rice bowl by Wednesday 4/17. As a reminder, they will be reflecting on their CSR rice bowl participation as part of their service-learning religion standards grade.
This is a VERY busy week at SPN. Students will be participating in a number of different activities, some of which are related to Holy Week. Monday, students will participate in the sacrament of Reconciliation. Tuesday, students will attend the Stations of the Cross. On Wednesday, students will go on a walking field trip to the Earth Day movie and experience a Tenebrae service. On Thursday, students will participate in a Seder meal. Please ask your students about these different activities.
We also have the SPN Mini Maker Faire this Wednesday April 17th. This is a fun event for students and their families. You are encouraged to participate with your student.
Our 4th grade class service-learning project this year has been focused on raising money to make a contribution to the Guide Dogs for the Blind “Puppies with a Purpose” campaign, with the proceeds going towards their new puppy center. Last week, the 4th graders sold “Lollipups” with encouraging messages to raise. This ties in directly with Catholic Social teaching. This week, we will continue preparing the lollipups for delivery to the classrooms on the April 18th, the last school day before Easter break. This is a HUGE project. Please pray for us to successfully complete it.
Please remember that Thursday April 18th is a minimum school day with noon dismissal. Additionally, there is no school or share and care on Friday April 19th.
If you have questions or would like to discuss anything about your student, please feel free to contact me to schedule a time to meet. I greatly appreciate your continued partnership and support in helping your student to be successful.
