4th Grade Weekly Overview

Week of February 11th  through February 15th

Our 4th grade class service-learning project this year is focused on raising money to make a contribution to the Guide Dogs for the Blind “Puppies with a Purpose” campaign, with the proceeds going towards their new puppy center. The 4th graders will brainstorm money generating ideas, select the idea that will produce the best result, create the project plan, and execute the plan. This is going to be a wonderful opportunity to apply math, writing, presentation, project management, and Catholic Social teaching. Please talk to your 4th grader about our project.

Our class is creating a book of acrostic poems for the Young Authors Fair. A notice went home last month announcing the Young Authors Fair, including the specifications for book submissions and time lines. If your 4th grader intends to submit a book for consideration, please make sure it is submitted to me no later than March 1st.

If you have questions or would like to discuss anything about your student, please feel free to contact me to schedule a time to meet.  I greatly appreciate your continued partnership and support in helping your student to be successful.

Peace & blessings,

Mr. Sahlman
