Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 12/15
“Heavenly Father, fill our hearts with the joy that comes from knowing your love. May we rejoice in the good news of salvation and share that joy with others during this season of Advent. Amen”.
Hello Parents,
We are looking forward to a joyful week filled with Winter in the Woods, Christmas music, Mac & Cheese lunch, and the spirit of the Advent season.
Our first all-school Mass on Monday was lovely. The children demonstrated excellent behavior throughout the entire Mass and should be very proud of themselves.
Thank you for your generous donations to our Advent Outreach Project. The children are learning the beautiful lesson of giving and the joy it brings—even to those they may not know.
On Wednesday, we will not be napping. The preschoolers will have the opportunity to watch the SPN Christmas Concert rehearsal. While we do not participate in the concert, this is a special experience for the children to enjoy.
As we prepare for Christmas break, maintaining regular meal and rest schedules is especially important. Supporting your child at home by reinforcing listening skills and self-regulation also makes a meaningful difference in their success at school.
Reminder: Friday, December 19th is a noon dismissal for preschool. There will be no afternoon preschool.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Peace,
Ms. Grace and Mrs. Hall

Our class is currently at 29% participation. If we reach 100% participation by the end of this week, the preschoolers will earn a pizza lunch celebration! Thank you to those who have already participated.
Thank you as well for supporting your child by reinforcing the importance of listening and self-regulation at home. These skills make a meaningful difference in their classroom success, and we’ve heard some wonderfully positive language this week. We appreciate your continued partnership.

Preschool Weekly Update – week of 11/10
Lord God, we thank you for our veterans who served our country with courage and sacrifice. Bless them with Your strength and peace, heal their physical and emotional wounds, and guide them always. May we never forget their service and honor their commitment to our freedom. Amen.
Dear Preschool Parents,
This week, we were delighted to welcome our new preschooler, Judy! The children greeted her with open arms and kind words. We look forward to watching Judy blossom in our preschool community.
Our class has begun our month-long theme on “Community Helpers.” This coming week, we’ll be exploring the important roles of those who help us in our neighborhoods. Today, we watched a video about Veterans Day and discussed why we celebrate this special holiday. The preschoolers also walked to the big school to deliver socks for our community collection—thank you for your generosity!
This morning, our class participated in First Friday Adoration at church. The children were reverent and respectful as we spent quiet time together with God. In past years, many preschoolers have shared that this is one of their favorite moments in church.
As we head into this three-day weekend, please continue to support your child by reinforcing the importance of listening and self-regulation at home. These skills make a meaningful difference in their growth and success in the classroom. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Wishing you a restful weekend—we’ll see you on Tuesday!
Peace,
Ms. Grace and Mrs. Hall

Preschool Weekly Update – Week of 10/27
Dear Families,
We have completed our month-long exploration of farm life! Your child’s portfolio was sent home today. We hope you’ll take some time this weekend to sit with your child and review their projects together. This helps reinforce their learning and gives them a chance to share their experiences with you.
Next week, we’ll spend some time celebrating and learning about the many cultural traditions observed during this season. Our “Community Helpers” curriculum will begin on November 3rd.
This past week was a bit challenging for our preschoolers. We had some hurt feelings caused by unkind words and play, as well as some difficulty with listening and self-regulation. Please know that these are all normal parts of early childhood development. To support your child through this growth, we ask that you talk at home about the importance of listening, following directions, and using kind language. These gentle, daily reminders make a big difference.
In the classroom, Mrs. Hall and I have added an additional table to create smaller groups. We review playground rules each morning, and our books this week focus on listening and being a good friend. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
Halloween – Friday, October 31st
SPN will hold a school-wide parade through the neighborhood, returning to the school yard afterward. Preschoolers will be signed in after the parade. Backpacks can be left outside the classroom door.
The parade will start at Fountain and Van Buren. If you would like your child to participate, they must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. If this isn’t possible, please drop your child off at 8:30 a.m. after the parade.
Have a restful weekend.
Peace, Ms. Grace and Mrs. Hall

Preschool Weekly Update – week of 10/20
The cool air of fall arrives with a whisper,
As leaves in amber and red begin to twirl.
A gentle chill, a promise of winter’s rest,
Carries the scent of smoke, putting the world to the test.
Dear Parents,
It’s amazing how quickly the weather has shifted — we’re definitely feeling the cooler days of fall! Our week of farm-themed food was both fun and delicious. This week, we’ll wrap up our monthly theme with “Farmer’s Market” activities.
Mrs. Hall and I want to thank you for talking with your preschoolers about listening and following directions, especially during our safety drills. Your support at home makes a big difference.
In the coming two weeks, our preschoolers will begin learning about our classroom Service Learning Project. This year, we’re collecting new men’s and women’s socks for veterans in need. The children will also learn about the different branches of the armed forces and what it means to be a veteran. The collection will run from November 3rd to November 21st.
We’re also excited to welcome a new preschooler, Judy, who will be joining our class the first week of November!
